Stephen Larkin is a chartered accountant with a proven track record of technical innovation in the African energy industry. He began his career in traditional finance roles at Unilever, GE Capital, and British Airways in the UK.
In 2004, he returned to his native South Africa and co-founded Nyper Networks, an industrial IT innovation company focused on the mining sector. At Nyper Networks, he developed a reputation for innovation through the use of advanced algorithms, rugged IT systems, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
In 2008, he provided advisory services to the South African government for the establishment of the solar industry. His successful advisory work led to an invitation from the Namibian government to develop a National Stranded Natural Gas to Solar Strategy, a project funded by the UN. This initiative culminated in the formation of ANE, where he developed a surface exploration algorithm to address Namibia’s energy crisis.
